I couldn’t meet Evan in person. His colleague was diagnosed with Covid, hence Evan had to be tested and self-isolate until he got his test results. Evan is another match on OkCupid. He’s originally from Australia, but has been in Berlin for quite a while. 

Instead of meeting we spoke for an hour via Video Conference. We could have spent much more time on the line, but I had to leave at some point. I loved our conversation!

And how funny that without ever having met in person, I felt a much stronger attraction to and connection with him than to any of the dates I met over the last couple of days. Evan is funny, self-confident (without being arrogant), has a great positive energy and asked so many good questions. The type of questions that are much more insightful than “where are you from” and “what do you do”. We spoke about what we’ve learned from the places we’ve lived in, integrating into Berlin, business, remote work, learnings from Corona, dogs etc. etc.

Time flew by. By the end of the conversation we set up our 1st “real” date for Wednesday. Big plus for him trying to understand the activities I like, the food I’d choose and the type of wine I’d go for in order to come up with a plan for Wednesday. I’m very excited to see him again. P.S. (1 day after our VC): He just got the results of his Coronatest back. All good, it came back negative. He also sent me a suggestions on what we could do on Wednesday to make sure I’d like it 🙂
